COLONEL MARK A. CHIDLEY

Col. Mark A. Chidley is the Wing Commander of 132d Wing, Iowa Air National Guard. He commands 926 Traditional, Active Guard Reserve, and Air Technician personnel responsible for Remote Piloted Aircraft, Intelligence Targeting, and Cyber Operations missions. He is responsible for training, equipping and preparing units and personnel in accordance with the Department of the Air Force and the State of Iowa and provides Airmen for active duty in times of war, national emergency, or other times as national security may require.  

Colonel Chidley began his career as an intelligence officer in the 182d Air Support Operations Center, Peoria Air National Guard Base, IL, in 1991 after he earned his commission through the Academy of Military Science.  He transferred to the 132d Fighter Wing, Iowa National Guard in 1997 where he continued to serve as an intelligence officer. He was selected as the full-time Senior Intelligence Officer in 2004.  He has also served as the Air National    Guard Liaison to Air Combat Command Intelligence Director, Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander, Mission Support Group Commander, Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Group Commander, and Vice Wing Commander prior to his current assignment.  He has deployed to Panama, Republic of Korea, Turkey, Kuwait, Qatar and Iraq and has supported combat operations for Operation Northern and Southern Watch, Operation Noble Eagle, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
