Chief Master Sergeant Kris A. Rode

 

Chief Master Sergeant Kris A. Rode is the Command Chief for the 132d Wing, Iowa Air National Guard in Des Moines, Iowa. As the Senior Enlisted Advisor/Command Chief, she serves as the advisor to the commander and senior leaders on matters influencing the health, morale, welfare,  quality of life, professional development and effective utilization of enlisted personnel assigned to the 132d  Wing.  Chief Rode serves as representative to the Wing Commander and represents the Wing Enlisted force on various committees, councils and boards and represents the Wing enlisted force at military and civilian functions.

 

 

Chief Master Sergeant Rode is a 2004 graduate of Iowa Valley Community College, a 2011 graduate of Grandview University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, and a 2012 graduate of the Community College of the Air Force. She achieved the status of Registered Nurse in 2004. Before taking her full-time position with the 132d Medical Group, she was a 20+ year employee of the State of Iowa. Serving most recently as the Register Nurse Supervisor at the Iowa Veteran’s Home; providing skilled care to over 645 veterans.

 

Chief Master Sergeant Rode enlisted in the Iowa Air National Guard on April 22, 1993. Following Basic Military Training and Aerospace Medical Technician Training, she was assigned as a Drill Status Guardsman to the 132d Medical Group, 132d Fighter Wing. Since then, she has deployed in various capacities to a variety of locations, including, Guatemala, Germany, Japan, Hawaii, and most CONUS states in support of exercises and overseas contingency operations. Her deployments include: Operation Southern Watch, Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia (2001), Hurricane Katrina, Bay St Louis, Mississippi (2005), Operation Enduring Freedom, Al Udeid AB, Qatar (2007) and Inherent Resolve, Freedom’s Sentinel and Resolute Support,  Al Dhafra AB, (2016) as Medical Group Superintendent for 380th EMDG. Chief Master Sergeant Rode has served in various leadership positions, including, Non-Commissioned Officer-in-Charge of Nursing Services, 132d Medical Group First Sergeant, and the Superintendent of Nursing Services.
