The Iowa Airshow – Official Announcement

Coming May 2027 to the 132d Wing in Des Moines

The 132d Wing of the Iowa Air National Guard is proud to announce the first airshow at the Des Moines Airbase in 30 years, returning in May 2027 with a full weekend of aerial performances, aircraft displays, and family-friendly activities. This historic event marks the long-awaited comeback of large-scale airshows to central Iowa.

Location: Iowa Air National Guard Base – Des Moines, Iowa

Host: 132d Wing, Iowa Air National Guard

Featured Performers:

  • U.S. Navy Blue Angels
  • Additional military and civilian performers (TBA)
  • Static aircraft displays, demonstrations, and STEM exhibits

The airshow will include aerial demonstrations, aircraft tours, community partner exhibits, military displays, and opportunities to meet Airmen of the 132d Wing.

 

Featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels

The 2027 Des Moines Airshow will highlight a headline performance by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, one of the world’s premier jet demonstration teams. Fans will experience the precision, power, and teamwork of the Blue Angels as their F/A-18 Super Hornets soar over Des Moines.

 

Tickets & Entry

Details regarding ticketing, parking, base access, and security procedures will be released as the event approaches. The airshow will be open to the public.
