13 Cub Scouts of Pack 95 visited the 132d Wing on Saturday March 4, 2017 to learn more about the Air National Guard’s role and mission.

The scouts toured the base, learned about the wing’s missions and received safety demonstrations from 132d Airmen.

“I wanted them to them gain some experience on how the military helps the nation and the missions they perform,” said Chris Thomas, the Pack 95 scout master. “I think they enjoyed it and learned a lot.”

The visit included an imagery analysis activity, a self-aid and buddy care demonstration, an RC-26 and C-12 aircraft tour, and an Operations Group tour as well as a Fire Emergency Services visit.

The scouts learned how satellites work and to think critically, treat different injuries and take a pulse, the different functions of the Operations Group and how to use a fire extinguisher.

“It was exciting to see the energy and enthusiasm of the Pack 95 cadets as they got the opportunity to see the capabilities that the 132d Wing can provide to the community state, and nation,” said Col. Shawn Ford, commander 132d Wing.

The 132d Wing looks to continue community outreach visits in the future as time and resources allow.
